If you have a kid under 13, you have to see this movie. If you’re about to have a kid or considering that possibility, you need to watch it too.

Maisie is a strong child, a girl who suffers her parents’ fights, who use her as the toy that gives them the power.

The story is sad but moving, and it shows us how important is to give children an environment of stability, affection and caring. That is all that matters in the end. Love. Affection. To have the chance to play carefree, because they don’t need to bother about adults’ matters. Children deserve that much, we owe that to them!!

The actors of the movie are brilliant too. Special mention to the youngest Onata Aprile, and those who prepared her for such a great job. Flawless acting. Julianne Moore is unsurprisingly amazing as usual. And the beautiful Alexander Skarsgârd and Joanna Vanderham are so human and honest that you can’t help but feel they’re for real.

Maybe the camera work was worth mentioning,. Maybe the sound engineering… I can’t say because I was so deeply caught by the story that I didn’t pay much attention to the rest.

And I repeat: if you have or want to have a kid, watch this movie. Get perspective. Don’t forget love is all!!

Maisie es una cría fuerte, una niña que sufre las peleas de sus padres, que la usan como juguete intentando demostrar quién es más poderos@.

La historia es triste pero muy conmovedora, y nos recuerda lo importante que es dar a l@s niñ@s un entorno de estabilidad, cariño y atención. Eso es realmente lo que importa. El amor. El cariño. Que tengan la oportunidad de jugar sin preocuparse por nada, que los asuntos de los adultos no les afecten. Los niños se lo merecen, ¡¡se lo debemos!!

Los actores de la película también son estupendos. Mención especial a la jovencísima Onata Aprile, y a sus preparadores por el trabajo tan increíble que han conseguido. Una actuación impecable. Julianne Moore no sorprende: está increíble, como siempre. Y los guapos Alexander Skarsgârd  y Joanna Vanderham son tan humanos y auténticos que tienes que creerte que son reales.

Quizá los planos son buenos y habría que mencionarlos… o la ingeniería de sonido… Lo cierto es que yo me metí tan a fondo en la historia que no presté mucha atención a nada más.

Pero repito: si tienes o quieres tener un/a crí@, ve esta película. Coge perspectiva. ¡¡No te olvides de que el amor lo es todo!!
