Oh yes, I’ve dared! Frances Ha!

Anyone who knows me a little is aware of my absolute clumsiness when trying to draw, paint or even imagine a figure. I’m definitively NOT a visual person. But even though, I still like to doodle from time to time. With really really bad results (I’m the worst partner for the pictionary).

So today I got such a surprise when I realized that a new Android functionality helped me vastly to feel fulfilled as a drawer! The S Memo app provides the option to write down notes or to sketch something and when I tried the sketch notes I woooowed! The lines were much smoother than anything I could do with pen, pencil, crayon or anything else… I just felt a 5-year-older again and I enjoyed for a while getting some designs I felt very happy about. Ok, if you’re a Draw Something pro you’ll feel this is nothing. If you excel in Illustrator, you may not even bother to take a look into it. But for me, the kid who sit always on the “lazy ones” table at kindergarden, who never was able to keep within the borders when painting a figure, who is unable today to paint better than a kid of 6, for ME this was a great deal.

And I’m so proud I want to share them! Oh yes, they are naive, and yes, I haven’t even bothered to try change the background. Life is easier than that! I enjoyed it, maybe someone will too! I’m sure the Muses will forgive me.

Pues sí, ¡me he atrevido! ¡Frances Ha!

Cualquiera que me conozca un poco sabrá de mi absoluta torpeza al intentar dibujar, pintar o incluso imaginar una figura. Claramente NO soy una personal visual. Pero aún así, de vez en cuando me sigue gustando garabatear un poco. Con resultados muy muy malos (soy el peor compañero para un pictionary).

Así que hoy me he llevado una gran sorpresa al darme cuenta de que una nueva funcionalidad de Android me ayudaba enormemente a sentirme realizado como dibujante. La aplicación S Memo da la opción de escribir notas o esbozar algo y cuando he probado a hacer un esbozo me he quedado loco! Los trazos eran mucho más claros y firmes que nada que yo haya podido pintar con lápiz, boli, cera o similares… Me he sentido otra vez como un chiquillo de 5 años y me lo he pasado en grande un rato pintando, hasta me he quedado contento con el resultado! Vale, si eres un profesional del Draw Something, esto te parecerá una tontería. Si te sales usando el Illustrator, puede que ni te molestes en echarle un ojo. Pero para mí, el niño que siempre se sentaba en la mesa de “los vagos” en el parvulario, el que nunca consiguió pintar una figura sin salirse de los bordes, el que sigue siendo incapaz de pintar mejor que un niño de 6 a día de hoy, para MÍ ha sido un gran paso.

¡Y estoy tan orgulloso del resultado que quiero compartirlos! Y sí, son dibujos ingenuos y sí, ni me he molestado en intentar cambiar el fondo. La vida es más fácil que todo eso. Yo los he disfrutado, quizá alguien los disfrute también! Yo estoy seguro de que las Musas me perdonan.
